Here is what is wrong with this country!

I don't know how to post video yet, so just click on the link to see what I am talking about.

Basically what happened was Boston won Game 4 against Orlando on a great shot by Glen Davis at the buzzer. In his exuberance to get to the Boston end of the floor and celebrate with his teammates, Davis had to dodge a referee and accidentally bumped into a kid and knocked his hat off. No big deal right? Apparently the dad, who has way too much spare time on his hands and is looking for free publicity for his business, made it a big deal.

Dude writes a letter to the NBA demanding an apology from Davis, calling him an animal, and ranting about the NBA not keeping fans safe. Davis, being the bigger man, issued an apology today even though one was not warranted. The NBA politely reminded him that if he cannot stay in the fan box in the future, then he risks forfeiture of his tickets. Yeah, you actually have to stay off the court Holmes.

These are court side tickets, so dude can obviously afford them, and he is whining about his son getting his hat knocked off? If that had been an Orlando player hitting the winning shot and the same thing happened, then that would have been the end of it. But no, he chose to act like a child and pitch a fit.

But no, this tool has to make a federal case out of it and in doing so, he comes across as one of those parents who will always take their kid's side no matter what Junior has done wrong. This kid is probably totally embarrassed by his dad's reaction and will not hear the end of it any time soon. At the same time, he probably gets this "protection" all the time. That will really help Junior later in life when confronted with a "real" situation. He will just get Daddy to fix it. What a message to send to your kid. Things don't turn out the way you want, you pitch a hissy fit and get an apology you don't deserve and come across looking like a total jerk.

Nice going buddy, you exemplify what is wrong with this country. We are becoming a nation of thin skinned "Nancy Boys" who whine, moan and groan when things don't go our way and expect to be rewarded for pain and suffering. Give me a break dude and toughen up.

We should now all pause for a moment of prayer and silent reflection as we wish the hat a safe and speedy recovery.

Thoughts?
